My youngest daughter is twelve, she has an older sis, who is 17, and I share the account with her older sister. Anyways, for my twelve year old, do you have any good movies in mind, that
aren't too kidish?

Off the top of my head. Interview with a vampire. Shaw shank redemption....might push it but great movie. She is 12, i mean cmon cut her some slack she will know a lot more about sex/drugs/swear words than you may think so any kind of kiddish really go out the window look for teen 15 18 so on. You know your daughter better than us so you choose.

Interview with a vampire has partial nudity but is a great movie ...its not really a horror atall more of a nice crazy story.

Shaw shank redemption is personally favourite movie. It is a smart, well thought out and done perfect its plot and actors are great. Well worth a watch if your daughter hasnt seen it.

There is a bit of swearing in it, im not to sure but there might be one scene of partial nudity. Nothing much though.

Dont be too protective about movies afterall ...thats all it is a movie. Swearing, nudity so on can be seen every day most people in her school will swear all the time and nudity can be seen in school books and in most movies.

Everafter is a good one for a chick flick. I would try Ella Enchanted or, basically anything that is Marvel. There isn't alot of sex involved or anything like that and it's not all girly if she's not into those. So things like Fantasic Four, X-Men, Hulk, Ghost Rider ect. Lord of the Rings and Starwars of course. Harry Potter is pretty good. That's all I got for now.

Ask her what movies she wants to see then check them out to see if they are ok enough for her to watch. I have two daughters and a son. My daughters are almost seven and five. they just tell me what movies they want and I check on the net to see the reviews to see if they are ok for their age.

-Raise Your Voice

-A Cinderella Story

-Cadet Kelly

-Herbie - Fully Loaded

-The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

-A Little Princess

-The Secret garden

-Ever After

Good luck and take care

Any movie by Miyazaki, they are great and the main characters in alot of them are girls. Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castle are all really good.

"That Thing You Do!" is a great movie for adults and young teens. It's a gentle comedy about a one-hit wonder group in the 1960s. Tom Hanks directed it and he's in it.

How strict are you with what she can watch?

Some popular movies for that age group:

Chronicles of Narnia

Harry Potter (series)

Enchanted

Bridge to Terabithia

Check blockbuster.com and browse categories based on what you will allow her to watch and what you know interests her. You could even ask her to give you advice.

Make it a family movie night. :)
