1. Everyone is done with shopping.
2. Thursday was both me and my husbands last day and we go back Jan.7 when school starts back.
3. Yes, the 9, 7, 5 yr old's are excited and well the 14mth old, our new puppy and 2 new kittens are all wondering why trees and foliage is suddenly indoors and wrecking havoc everywhere, all 4 of them...lol
4. My husband and I buy for them separately and I won't know what he got till they open their gifts. Among other things: Our 9 yr old asked for an addition to his Schylling Erector Set and Lego Ningago Set; the 5 yr old asked for "his own" Vintage Millennium Falcon (because X won't let him play with his for a long time...this and more was all written on the note..lol), and of course he needed some Star Wars action toys and Hot Wheels Double Loop something or other; the 7 yr old girls asked for "the new American Girl doll" and the nightmare of twins is I got two and two of her dogs, and 2 of her loft beds.. ugh..lol but they really take care of these dolls, then one asked for Dream Dazzlers and the other for some kiddie cosmetic kit and I know they coordinated this..lol; I got the 14 mth old Vtech Go Go and Catch-Me-Kitty, a Laugh out Loud Elmo and Fisher Price Little Peoples Wheelies and Disney Princess Songs Palace. I also got for all refills for Treat Maker and Easy Bake Oven, new craft items, clothes and shoes.
5. They make ornaments at school and I have no clue how they get away with this but they make 4 sets...lol One for here and one for each of their grandparents and one for my moms mom. But they all come carefully boxed..lol
6. My grandmother knits our stockings. She will knit them in red, green or white with your favorite color and she likes them really long. They are gorgeous. I actually asked for one of each and she does it..lol. So we each have 3 stockings, except for our 14 month old who has a temporary green plaid stocking until she tells us her favorite color. My mothers tradition is that we meet hat her house on Christmas Eve for brunch and the gift exchange.
7. On Christmas day, we dress in jammies that I make us and watch movies and their dad concocts some sort of popcorn.
8. We have several trees, but the tacky tree in the family room is what we call the "family tree" where we hang all those ornaments the kids make, the construction paper garland that I carefully box each year so it isn't crushed, everyone's first ornaments, first shoes that we have pearlized in some color, trophies, and other keep sakes that we want to hold onto but would otherwise not get recognized or just collect dust if displayed. Its a tree of us. But the others are themed.
9. Making "smores" in the fireplace.
