Because they can get off of welfare, and then want kids when they're productive. However, they wouldn't be able to have them. Does that seem fair to you?

Two, it's a violation of human rights.

You can take the kid away if the mother can't support them anymore, but it's not right to sterilize people.

Three, do you really want the government sterilizing people? Are you for real?

The same can be said for people who complain. Seriously, if you don't like it, then change it. It's not like the people doesn't have a voice. Plus there are programs that help single mothers get off of welfare and find jobs to help them become productive. I say use a more conventional method, like Nova ring or other options that give them time to do just that, plus it won't cause problems with their reproduction.

Welfare is temporary, but sterilization is perimant. The best that you could do in a free society is to go with a temporary measure like Norplant. It lasts 5 years and would give them a chance to become a productive member of society before having another child. The other option is the stop the crap about religious rights relating to contraception, and make sure that it is provided by all govt agencies and companies alike. That way, the mother has her choice again.

There are lots of things wrong with that idea. One, sterilizing welfare recipients basically punishes them for factors that are almost always beyond their control and at a time when they are already at their lowest point. Two, targeting women exclusively amounts to institutional misogyny. Three, welfare exists as a safety net for when people fall under hard times and to soften the effects of poverty. Four, we should be targeting employers who pay their employees poverty wages and should working to ensure that all workers earn a livable income. Five, we should be questioning any system that allows poverty and inequality to exist in an era of overabundance. Six, we should be promoting family planning over sterilization and working to improve access to contraceptives. And finally, we should be working to make ourselves a more compassionate and altruistic society.

We've got to find some way to figure out how to encourage smart, successful people to have children, and discourage stupid, lazy, welfare free loaders from having children, that's for sure. I say sterilize them np, but im sure that would be struck down by a judge.

Pro-choice

choose to starve or choose to be sterile

Some idiots said "is it fair"

Well I ask is it fair people who never went on deadbeat welfare Pay taxes and live frugally and do without

while Suzy welfare mom has school and daycare paid for and welfare and other assistance

Yet most of of tax paying workers never could afford to go to school -- then later Suzy welfare looks down her college educated nose at us and never pays BACK the money

No it is not fair and LIFE IS NOT FAIR

In theory it sounds reasonable. Why allow people to continue having more kids if they can't support the ones they already have? It doesn't make any sense. But it'd never fly as we are a society of free thinkers and free people. If you want to be a stupid lazy slob and mooch off of others even as you keep pumping out one poor kid after another, then it is your right to do so. Go ahead, anyways other people who have jobs and pay taxes will pay for your right to be stupid and lazy.

You don't have to work. You could choose ssi and not have to work also. I think every women should be fixed from have kids after their second child. Anyone who has more than 2 kids is selfish. They are over populating the earth. Twin triplets and others like that are ok to make up for random deaths. Humans are very smart now and we could make the world better and teach good ways easier with less people

If we sterilized all welfare mothers there would be no one to give birth to people like you.

Being poor doesn't make you an unfit mother, and sterilizing women is a lifelong thing whereas being poor is more often a temporary situation.

I think a better solution is to have our government cancel the programs that "pay for babies" for eternity. I also think that taxpayer deductions for kids needs to stop at two. This thing of having four to six kids, and this is not an exaggeration, would have less children if the tax benefits would stop at two. People used to be responsible for their own actions. Now? Not really.

Since most people are on welfare for only 18 months, your idea will never pass the smell test.

Yeah, what's wrong with dehumanizing people and taking away their human rights?
2015-05-07 21:42:30 UTC
Nothing, since it's cheaper than sending them to extermination camps.

I think it's a grand idea. Pay them $500 to have their tubes tied with their next childbirth.

We should stop paying these sluts who get drunk on a Saturday night and have unprotected sex. We the workers are picking up the tab and working ourselves into an early grave while they are constantly looking up at the ceiling as another pathetic prick goes up.

So say you plan to have a baby. you get pregnant. Some weeks in you lose your job, say the company closes, relocates, or downsizes. What then? Forced abortion?

Nothing, if that's what they want.
