Hmm. I had an "Army-style" father, too. You have two options that I can think of. One: You can rebel, rebel, rebel and do what you want, but your father will not like it and most likely make your life more difficult because of it. Two: You can go with the flow, realize that this is not forever, and do your best to not start more wars. On the other hand, you can always try to be up-front with him about balancing responsibility and fun.

Obey and honor him regardless of how he acts. Parents are fallible people, too. They (we) make mistakes and sometimes "learn as we go," regardless of how old we are or how many children we have. In a perfect situation, if parents were lovingly fair, kids lovingly obeyed, and we all honored each other - things would be great. However, things don't always happen like that. Just keep up your end of the deal and I'm certain things will get better.
