My daughter's first birthday party is fairy themed. There won't be any little kids at the party but I want to incorporate fairy dust into the theme. I don't want to buy glitter for it to be just wasted. So any ideas as to what i can put into a Fairy Dust jar that people would use?

for our nieces party we used decorators sugar in light colors. we made cupcakes that everyone sprinkled their own fairy dust on.

I'm confused. What will adults use this fairy dust for?

If it's for food, you can use sugar (grind it finer than normal).

If it's for effect as people walk into the door, then use baby powder or a lightly scented bath powder. Make sure it's washable. I foresee a mes from this, though.... make people set on a magic mat or something before using it.

You could also use confetti.

Happy first birthday party!

How about rainbow color sand? Like the type you use in fishtank. Maybe a corked jar? Best of luck and and enjoy your day!!! Happy first!!

PS sorry I just read you don't want to waste... hmmm remember the pixie sticks or fun dust that comes in the packets? Maybe you can use that and than let the kids enjoy the leftovers.

Happy Birthday Baby!! Lot's of love xoxo

its a 1st birthday

the fairy dust is taking it a little far.

I know it sounds harsh now, but trust me when you get older you will agree.

It's her first birthday. She is only 1 year old. She is a little kid. So yes there are going to be little kids at the party. She is herself a little kid.

Finely ground spices of good color? You could layer them so they look neat. I'm thinking clove, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric (though the turmeric might stain things). Stuff like that.

You can get edible glitter and put it on the desert, it looks amazing
