I will profess slight confusion over the question. Hindu children are no different than other children. Respect and trust are paramount, but that is not different than what I would have said were someone asking about Christian or Muslim or Pagan.
They are young boys and girls that are going to grow up in a challenging world.
Golden Rule applies here:
Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

With respect and love. It goes both ways. We have simple rules in our family that work well. We don't lay hands on one another in anger, everyone is entitled to their own space, feelings and privacy. We speak with respect and we treat ourselves and others with respect.
Love your children, give them a strong foundation to trust and love from, challenge them to excel and watch them grow beautifully.
