I have had a warning on my computer that adult sites have been visited and we beleive this could only have been done by my partners 13 year old daughter. How can we block sites such as this from being visited and protect her and ourselves from this in future?

there are different things out there that can block adult sites, for example NetNanny.

Also have you thought about confronting the daughter and explaining to her.

Another thing is that you may be able to put a password on the computer so she will have to ask you if she wants to log on. Also put the computer somewhere, where everyone can see it when it's being used.

Good luck with everything.

Im not saying that 13 year old girls dont visit adult sites, but I very much doubt it. Most 13 year old girls are looking for friendships and other people to talk to, not looking at other naked girls (lets face it, most adult sites are aimed at men)

Im not sure why there are so many thumbs downs, some great people have suggested some wonderful ideas, such ask blockers and keeping the computer in the main room. all of which are great thoughts, and not deserving a thumbs down at all.

I also will admit I got red lights flashing when I read that, I too thought the obvious answer was your partner. I know my husband has looked at adult sites and to be honest I dont see what the big deal is, as long as its not kiddy porn...

I think Id rather my husband look at adult sites than a 13 year old girl. but thats my opinion... wonder how many thumbs downs Ill get now lol :)

It could just be a pop up to get you to buy a programme, try clicking ctrl and h on your keyboard, it will put a box up on the left of the screen telling you what sites have been visited, check it every day for a few days and see if there are any adult sites on there. Then if there are, confront the family, saying someone has been visiting porn on the computer.

Are you sure it wasn't your partner, love?

Besides if it is the little girl, then I suggest that you talk to her. Find out why she's being so inquisitive about things of this nature at such an early age, her queries might be easy for her father or mother to solve.

Personally, I think its your guy looking at the sites. And he's covering it up by blaming it on his own little girl. I would start by talking to him

I believe it's most likely your partner. Use the parental blocking. If it is your partner the message will come up again. These messages are meant to sell you something. Did it say your adult viewing is being tracked? They try to embarrass the computer operator into thinking the whole world is going to know what you are doing so the message would have come up no matter who was doing the viewing.

Hello!

I'd not worry too much or read too deeply into it-she may be looking on them more as a curiousity thing.

If you or your partner haven't had "the talk" yet then perhaps now would be a good idea to have it.

Apart from that, get a password-based parent control for your computer to prevent her looking at things she shouldn't be and never let her get her mitts on the password!! You can buy the parent control software from Staples, PC World and computer shops. Hope this helps!!

if it was just a pop up box that said this it could be nothing. many spam pop ups say that adult sites have been visited to try and sell programs that totally clear the computer registry. it could be nothing.

if adult sites are in the internet history then its a different story.

I know there are key loggers and stuff you can put on your computer, but have you taught her about sex and anatomy? I looked at some sites like that when I was a young teenager because I was curious about what the male anatomy looked like.

Take a hammer to the computer. It's the only way. Trust me, if she wants to find it, she will, and there is not much you can do to stop her. In addition to that, I would take a good look at your partner, what does he do on the computer?

what i would say is since im 12 you should have the sex talk, she must be thinking bout having sex so you should put her on the pill or get her a shot, because even if you say she cant have sex doesnt mean she is , trust me teens now adays know how to find away to get around them even at school

13? would not worry.

Congratualtions .... you have a teenager

just like all the other teengers, just as you were, just as all all will be.

Curious about dating, kissing and sex....nothing to worry about. Does not means she will do it soon

Also shes female... porn is more visual and aimed at guys so she will probably think hes ugly, boy band whatever is much hotter. or euwuuu im not letting a guy do that...grossse.

Besides females prefer things that vibrate like those notorius harry potter broms which had a vibrating effect that proved very popular with teenage girls... (seriouly look it up on the net the Nimbus 2000 vibrating brooms)

ie daddies little girl is loosing interwest in My little Pony Dolls and babie

And getting into boys, music, boys, rock stars with muscelly chests...ie boys, make up, parties, gigs, clothes, dateing, kissing... boys..., possibly adventure sports, being a pop star and I sudjest you worry more about the alcohol cabinate and make bloody sure she does not go anywhere near solvents as its normally the stupid pre teens who try solvents to get high ... AND DIE (solvents KILL more kids then all the other drugs bar alchol and tabbacco but togehter)

Look Mate.

You stop children not teenagers geting unwanted porn as it probably upsets them. This was not unwanted. And her hacker nurdy mates will tell her how to bypass your blockers.

But when we get to teen years if you had a teenage boy Id expect them to start to find the underwear section of the littlewoods catalogue far more interesting then the toy section around 14-15 and girls mature faster.

So more then likely if it was deliberate shes curious about sex.

However whats far better for her then seeing hardcore internet porn is things like Bravo TVs 'Porn Week' show

Shock, horror, perve alert? no... Id also suggest the boys see it.

The show is like following guys and girls who take real holidays on a porn movie set for a week.

(no you dont see really strong stuff)

but what you do see is that the director and the stars and 'tourists' are all human with human feelings and personalities just like you. And that its a job. And they say that when you make love to your real wife, husband, boy or girlfriend as many of the stars do. Its more cuddly and close, and more kisses etc and that porn is not real as is doen for the cameras ... ie the positions have to be right for the lighting, the director, the cameraman/woman, sound, etc to all see and make sure make up does not smuge etc.

With the guys job real hard as he has to have control teenage boys would never have.

This way when teenagers see porn they think of that was so in so from the show or Thats a real person who will be going clubbing and has feelings too.

And that having a real boy or girlfriend who you can snuggle up with in bed when you are not having sex simply as it feels nice to feel close and be held boy boy or girlfriend is better then the job related mechanical sex you see in porn.

Its a job to the stars like any other.

So if she shes porn sites/aduult sites it wont be in any way harmful. Actually most likely pretty boring. Or something thats a part of growing up and understanding her sexaulity and what people do as they grow up no different to crushes on boy band members, first dates etc.

Also what could be an idea is to tell her you know she was checking out these sites and talk to her about it and how she is growing up, and thats ok. Leaving the 'Lovers Guides' DVDs downstairs fro the to borrow when she wants.

As thats educational and deals realisiticially with the realtiosn and safe sex aspects as in porn you dont see condoms.

What you dont see is all the medical check ups they have to get all the time mentioned in things like 'Porn week'

And that porn stars are not going to sleep around and not practice safe sex as that would put fellow stars at risk, and their careers.

You will find open attiudes to sex from countires who dont see sexuality as a horrible thing to hide and protect teenagers from but something to be open about and prepare them for knowing it will start mid to late teens for more not 13 is best.

Not only low to zero teen pregnancy and std rates but kids far more balanced and realted with less emotional problems.

Plus far from being the degrading exploitative horribly immoral thing you think this industry is.

You get all the same bloopers and silly pranks on set, with the sets bumping each other in the poll and getting chased like anyone else.

YOU SEE IF YOU MAKE OUT THIS IS SOMETHING NASTY YOU KID WILL BE AFRAID TO COME TO YOU OR OTHERS FOR ADVICE WHICH SHE DESPIRATELY NEEDS.

IF YOU MAKE OUT THIS IS NOT SUCH A BIG DEAL AND IS SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT AS JUST SEX IN THE SENCE SEX IS ABOUT GETTING CLOSE TO PEOPLE

YOU CAN BE THERE WHEN NEEDED... AND YOU WILL BE VERY SOON.
