Do your kids give their grandfathers something for Father's Day?

As most of you know, Johnny's father is not in the picture (by his own choice). So, his daycare teacher talked to me this morning and they are getting ready to start a project soon that they will be able to bring home and give to their dad's for Father's Day. They know my stepdad at daycare because he picks Johnny up a lot, in fact, they all call him Papaw (even the other kids, lol). (Papaw is what Johnny calls him.) Anyways, his teacher was asking me if it would be okay for Johnny to make his project and give it to Papaw for Father's Day. I thought this was a cute idea....

What do you guys think?

Yes they do ♥

I think is is a fantastic idea and your step-dad will LOVE it :)

And how considerate of the daycare providers to ask you first to make sure it was okay. They seem like really caring providers to take notice of Johnny's home life and want to do something nice for Papaw ♥

Don't pay attention to the jerk above!!!

I think its a great idea. Remember anyone can be a dad but it takes a real man to be the father. Right now papaw is the father in his life and a gift would show your dad that you appreciate what he does for you and your son... I love it!

Absolutely! That's a great idea! That way Johnny gets to be involved with the rest of the class, and I always give my father gifts from my girls (daughter AND Step daughter who isn't even related to him) for Father's Day.

we've photos of my dad while my son grow to be born. He grow to be only status there adoring my son. They make me cry virtually each and every time I see them. My father and that i had an uneasy relationship to declare the least for a protracted time--my son has given us our relationship back. even nonetheless we are residing very a techniques faraway from my mothers and dads my son and him have a important and candy bond. that is like they're there at the same time each and all of the time. that is only the sweetest factor.

my baby will, yes. he doesn't have a dad either and his grandpa has really stepped up and done a lot for him! We will pick out, or make, a card specifically for grandpas on father's day. Also - on mothers day, even though i'm very involved in my son's like (haha! 24-7!) he got his grandmother and his great grandmother a card.

I think it is a very cute idea and i think your stepdad will be honored :) !

I agree, great idea! It sounds like he's the father figure for him and that would be sweet. Isaac has a daddy but he also ''gets'' his tata something :) This year it's a card I made from shutterfly.com totally free with pics of him and it says I love grandpa, it's so cute, check it out, maybe you can still get them! It's 3cards for free, I just paid shipping (1buck)

I think thats really sweet and a great idea! I personally dont give my dad anything from my kids... I get him something from me, since I'm his daughter. But although my dad and I get along well and are pretty close, I dont see him to often since we dont live in the same state, so he isnt as involved as yours seems to be. But if i was in your situation I would definitely get/make him something :)

My husband and I recently got divorced, so I'll probably just get him a card and sign the kids names this year.

Sounds like a good idea to me...I'm guessing it'll be Papaw's favorite gift.

My kids help me make something for my dad. I usually write Grandpa on the card too. I don't see the big deal. A grandpa is a father too.

my dad was never around growing up. i went to catholic school and being a single parent was very looked down upon, but being the child of a single parent was worse. I always gave my father's day crafts to my mom. She loved it. And it saved me a lot of awkward explaining

why not? i have always gave my kids credit for any mothers day or fathers day gifts i have given my parents since becoming a parent (its soooo much cheaper letting them draw a pic than buying my dad the same movie he has or anything else, anything he needs he buys, anything he doesnt have i cant afford so there you go)

I think it's a great idea. I always send my Dad a card, and this year I will include a drawing by my son.

That's a great idea. I do have my daughter and my stepson give my dad, my grandpa and my husband's dad a FD card and gift.

I'm sure your stepdad would really appreciate that.

I think that sounds like a lovely idea!

Of course! I think any male that's so involved in a child's life should get recognition.

I'm sure he'll love it.

I think that if that is what he wants to do, then he should do it. A name doesn't carry much weight when it comes to what a child feels. That is what should dictate their actions.

Hallmark holidays are lame.
