I suspect they run off with single socks out of the dryer in order to defy anti literary-sock laws, but I have no hard evidence.

We even have a library book bin that in theory all books go back into after use. UGH.

I'm pretty sure all our library books are eaten by the van. We find them months after losing them somewhere in the belly of the beast, and we KNEW they were returned but now have to go hat in hand to the library and apologize for them doing a wild goose chase for "Curious George".

Before I moved out- under my sisters mattress! If something was missing you'd find it there!

Now, I don't go to the library- the fees for the local one are astronomical. Funnily enough we have a thriving second-hand book store industry locally and I can often BUY the books for less than what a weeks overdue fees are!

As my husband and I are HOPELESSLY scatterbrained, buying the books works out a lot cheaper than going to the library for us. Plus the book stores have a better range of books.

I can never find the DVD cases and if there is a DVD in a case it's the wrong one. $1 a day each day they are late should have me paying closer attention.

The local library just did a fundraiser for the food pantry to "excuse" late fees in exchange for food, a huge overflowing corner of ramen noodles filled the place.

Have you seen Hocus Pocus (disney movie)? All the lost things go to that one guy's house in Halloweentown!

Maybe you need to limit library book use to one room of the house?

I think the one we are missing ended up in your bin.
