Question:
Is there a site for moms who just need to vent? Like I guess a chat site is what I need.?

I am a stay at home mom with a mixed family. Meaning 10yo B from husbands first marriage. He has ADHD and all kinds of other baggage from his mother and her multiple husbands. I then have a 6yo B from a previous relationship of my own. He has ADHD and now a big brother that influences some very poor behaviors. And then together we have a 16mo G who seems to just be naughty and has a very mean streak. I am a strict but loving mom and so is my husband. We have set schedules, chores and rules. But I swear that they are against me sometimes..I just found my stuff thats been missing stuffed in a closet all together. HELP I AM GOING CRAZY!!! Ok so a lil over dramatic but it goes on and on and I just need a place to vent and get ideas. So if anybody has any places please let me know.

First of all, let go of the things that you cannot control. Stop playing the blame game when it comes to your husband's son. Maybe your step son has issues, but you said your son has ADHD, too. Does that mean you caused your son's issues? Is your daughter naughty and mean because of you? I highly doubt it.

Now, make some time to get out and do something for yourself. Go for a walk, or take an interesting class. Let your husband take the kids for awhile. Find a mom's group, either in your community or online. Take care.

Also check into parent workshops or classes, family therapy- it doesn't have to be all the phsyco babble just to work thru stuff and get good ideas. Ask some teachers or the doc. for refferals of someone to talk to abuot the adhd, also look for support groups specifically for adhd or step parenting etc.

I feel your stress. I am trying to find an outlet too. What I decided to do is try to find moms in birmingham that would trade a few hours with me and other moms to get a break and make friends in the process. If you would like, email me mcce@live.com and we can talk and see if we can help each other out.
