Well, I have a daughter, but she is only 2, so I don't have to worry about prom for a few years.
I can tell you that most moms were teens at one time, and a lot of them went to prom - including me. And we also did post prom activities, such as after prom parties and such. As a mother, I will be sure to let my daughter know that I am aware what goes on during and after prom. She will also be armed with information, and taught what decisions and choices are good and wise, and which ones will only lead to trouble. All you can do is educate and trust.
Or, in the mind of my husband, you can lock your daughter into the closet, and don't allow her to date until she is 45. THAT is his solution to the issue.

I am a parent, and I do know what goes on after prom and it worries me. Luckily I have a year or two before my girls will be off to prom, but I'm already worried about it.

Oh yeah parents know but they just hope that the teen will be smarter than that. So, to say that parents would rather you bring home their princess is like obvious. If you have to ask you are not ready to stay in a hotel with a girl.

YES of course they know. Some of them had to get married in hurry before you or your siblings were born.
IF you go to a hotel, you will be chaparoned. Most hotels are not going to rent to unchaparoned teens. And if you steal your mom's credit card she is going to find out. She will not like that or you for a long time if you do that.
If a parent does rent a room for you, that parent will be in that room too.
Do you think we are stupid? We aren't we raised you to try to be sneaky didn't we? Now you are busted.

Just like most of the people hear say. Yes they know what could happen and hope that it doesn't happen. When my daughter reaches prom night, that's when GPS gets installed in her car, phone, and Chasity belt along with a sincere talk. I may have to become 007 or Get Smart for one night.

well i'm 22 and i went to my prom sometimes theres usually a party but it depends how the parent reacted i was pregnant at the time so i went to the party for an hr 1/2 and came home
but it wouldn't hurt to be honest with them and let them know what's going on just incase something happens

Ha! My parents would never have allowed me to go to a hotel after my prom! They aren't idiots and they know exactly how kids will behave if you let them.

Of course they know. They did the same things. They mind but they know you're growing up and they hope they've raised you well enough to make smart choices.

Most parents prefer that wherever you are your safe.
Like my sister got all of her friends and went up to a lakehouse that way none of them drink and drive.
and they don't want to get wasted that way they can enjoy the next day...

Oh, we know! We had proms too don't forget! I think my biggest concern would be sex. I just worry that expectation would push her into something she doesn't really want to do. Yikes...scary. I would say I would set something up so you could have fun, be safe, PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

I don't think most parents know. Or atleast they dont want to aknowledge it.
Be careful, safe, use your brain, & enjoy the night. :)
