My son and daughter know Santa is not real, I personally don't believe in lying to my children. They know that they gets gift from mummy and daddy because they earned them, not because some fat man broke in to my house and left gifts despite him being naughty!

What is the point in lying and then in few years having to say, 'hey kids, you know how we always taught you not to lie, well, we have been lying to you for years, Santa isn't real' Then watch the heartbreak of them realising that you lied!

My own personal choice.

My cousin tells her son all the time that santa is not real and he doesn't believe her. He tells her that he does exist. He wants to believe in santa and his mom has no say in it. Santa will be a part of christmas for my daughter, but if she asks me if he is real I will ask her what she thinks, and if she says he does exist I will tell her that is all that matters.

My children knew from day one that santa was imaginary person. We are atheists so we found other ways for the kids to get gifts and things around christmas.

There are millions of us.

Not everyone celebrates Christmas, my family included.

It wouldn't have made any sense for me to tell my child Santa existed.

It was no big deal, didn't harm her or traumatize her in any way.

All the best.

I have yet to meet any parents who didn't tell their children about santa. I plan on telling my son about santa.
