Parents: Do you take your children to get their pics done professionally?

I do! I take them and get family pics done and get birthday pics done! Just seeing how many other families get pics done!

My daughter gets professional pics taken twice a year at daycare. We did have family pics taken in November. My cousin is a photographer and she took them.



I am an amateur photographer and I take photos all the time. My hubby bought me a new Nikon dSLR camera for Xmas and I've been learning to use it. I prefer candid photos of my daughter doing things like watering the garden, riding her bike, playing in the snow than to forced studio pics with a fake smile.

My friend is a photographer, so we usually will do something each year with her. She took my sons senior portraits and our christmas card pics this year. When they were little I always took them to sears too for their birthdays. I have super cute photos from them. I also have my own SLR camera so I have some pretty cool photos I've taken, but I am no where near becoming a photographer. :)

From age birth to 1 I got them done every 3 months. Now that they are toddlers I do a summer pic and a Christmas pic



I get them done at JcPenny and you don't have to spend a fortune. I get summer pics for about $40 and Christmas is more about $70 b/c I get cards.

If by "professional" you mean "at the local grocery store's portrait studio", then yes, we get them done for our daughter. So far, we had hers done at 2 weeks, 4 months (which doubled as her Christmas pictures), 6 months, and 1 year. I haven't decided now if I want them done every year on her birthday (August), at Christmas, or sometime in between the two.



I'm pregnant again so I'm thinking we'll do the same bunch for this baby's first year, and then go one a year.

My friends Mom who used to work on photography took family portraits and newborn shots of our daughter when she was 2 weeks old. She did an awesome job!



We took her to JcPenny to get portraits with her cousins on my SO's side of the family when she was 3 months old (around Easter).



Then we took her to a Mother/Daughter photography studio (the daughter, I graduated high school with and they do photography out of the basement of their home.. as a hobby).. when she was 9 months old.. and again for Christmas / 1st Birthday shots all in one appointment since her 1st birthday was just 6 days before Christmas. (:



Now that she's a year old.. we plan on only doing the professional portraits every six months! The Mother/Daughter studio is amazing. Their prices are great and they are incredible with my daughter.

I want to, but it's just not in the budget right now. However I do have a couple of aspiring photographers in my family and they love the opportunity to practice. Those pictures usually come out looking almost professional, and one of my sisters has gotten so good that you can hardly tell that they're not.

yes we need to get birthday pictures and a new family picture done soon. We normally go to sears too they are so good with the kids. We get birthday pictures done and try to do a family picture every year. I normally do the pictures for 3m,6m,9m for my kids.

yeh we go to pixifoto every 6 months for her birthday and christmas (only 2 weeks between them) and during the summer, getting my daughters 2 year photos done on the 1st feb. when our second is born will be getting family ones done too aswell as their birthday and christmas photos.

I took my son to JCP to get his Christmas pics done. They turned out great! His 1st bday is in Feb so I will probably just take him to Walmart to get a few pics taken.

I take the girls every year for one professional picture. This year we are having a family photo done with my brother and his son. We have a friend that takes photos and she does it for us pretty cheap. I love her photos because they are not posed and taken at cool locations. My favorite is one of the girls in a field of wild daisies. They are barefoot with jeans and white shirts.

My kids go at 3mon, 6mon, 9mon, 12mon, 18mon and 2yrs -- then annually after that. With my daughter, we did Sears through 18 months and a local photographer (http://www.jamesfullmer.com) every year after that until she started school. My son is only 4 months old so we've only done one session, but we're going with a local photographer here and are very pleased with his 3mon photos! (http://www.lightfalling.com)

i used to take him to a professional photographer (he was a friend of a friend). i don't do that anymore because i just buy the ones that the schools do.



my sisters whole family did go to a professional studio, privately owned, it turned out really really nice. its expensive. she paid about 200 for the sitting and couple of photos.

We have been about once a year, but I think I'm going to stop, they are too expensive, and I find myself hanging photo's I've taken rather than the professional ones.

No way. I can take pictures just as good as any other photographer, and I know Photoshop like the back of my hand.

Dennis fergeson, he is pretty cheap but you have to drop them off for about an hour or so.

i used to... but i can take much better pics of my kids then anyone else... and i really hate posed pictures, they seem so fake...
