Question:
Free for the weekend, any ideas where I can take my boys?

So I’m completely free this weekend and I have run out of ideas, on where to take my boys. I've taken them to the zoo, the aquarium, the park just recently and so I’m just about running out of ideas as to where I should take them this weekend.

I'm a widower and I have 3 little boys who are 5, 3 and 1 month in age, so it’s only the boys, a friend of mine and myself.

I need a place where I can take everyone including the little bub. Also somewhere where I don’t have to run around after my two older boys, because I’m nursing a broken collarbone at the moment. Any ideas?

hmm... well you could always try planning a picnic, or how about camping out in the back yard... having fun doesnt mean you always have to go out and spend money... they may expect that always later on in life... or how about going to the beach and building sand castles, going out for icecream, movies ( though that would probably be too loud for the baby) you could alwyas have movie night at home, make some popcorn let each of the older boys choose their own movie... etc... i bet they'd love anything that got them messy, how about throw an art exhibition, they can make finger painting pictures, macaroni art, paper mache etc... or try making personal mini pizzas, they can be haelthy and fun, chances are if they help make them they'll be more likley to eat them with veggies... why not look online like on google for rainy day activities, just because its not raining doesnt mean anything it might give you some good ideas :)

Hi Daniel, maybe you should ask the others where they would like to go for example it would be no good going anywhere that the other members of the party would not find stimulating and enjoyable, but at the same time is not going to be spoilt by any weather situation.

Look at the ideas suggested, then if it comes to a split decision, do one this weekend, and for the next time do the other. I am sure your friend would appreciate being asked as part of the unit, as he/she may well have to take more than an equal burdon due to your injury.

Whatever you decide, have a good time out,

have fun,

Mike t.

Wow, I would consider slowing the pace a little and give yourself some time to heal. I'm not sure how long ago you lost your wife, but both some physical and emotional downtime may do you and your boys some good. Why not rent a couple of kid's movies, make some popcorn and pretend you're at the theater? Or, take them to the library and get them their own cards. Kids don't need big entertainment all the time. Keep up the good work.

I was going to say that you could buy them a swimming pool andlet them play in the water while it is sooo HOT! but then you said you live in South Africa and the weather is about to get cold there so that may not be such a great idea.

You could stay home with them and have a fun craft day with them??!! What about going to the beach and having a treasure hunt? Sit on the beach and relax let the kids build sand castles.

in our town there are readings at the library for kids that age and you could accompany them with your little one. look online to see what they have in your town. you could take your little one in a stroller and the other two on their bikes or just a nature walk to collect cool rocks or to the park. and to an indoor playarea like mcdonalds or burger king. we are headed to the indoor pool today because we have a membership there. my stepkids are 2 4 and 6. get them a small pool for the back yard bbq hotdogs and turn the radio on. or close all the blinds and make popcorn and candy to watch movies like youre at the movie theatre. i was full of ideas a year ago when i met my husband because his wife ran off and we got the kids one night every other weekend so we were only able to do a few things. they color and paint alot now that we have them during the summer. hope that helps. and im sooo sorry for your situation. we pray for your strength through such a hard time.

It sounds like you've been pretty busy... Why don't you just put up a sprinkler in the back yard and hang out at home this weekend? The kids don't have to go on outings every weekend to have fun, especially when you've got a broken collarbone! =] Sometimes a laid back weekend at home is even more fun than going out.

call them up and function them convey their swim suits and any toys that they've for the water and take them the two to the community swimming pool or to a minimum of one a pair cities over or maybe if. If something you ought to purchase them one in each and every of those air balls to choose the flow around and throw interior the water. All teenagers love swimming, that's common for you who's pregnant, or maybe adult men and adults take excitement in the pool!!! Then once you are able to enable them to p.c. their quickly nutrition restrant, like McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's (the place I lived there is in uncomplicated terms McDonalds, so it relies upon on your region) Swimming is cheep, the ball should not be over 8 greenbacks and McDonalds or different might desire to variety between 6 greenbacks in step with new child plus you and your husband (i'm rounding up on them ordering great) and probably you are able to take them to a toddler keep and enable them to p.c.. out some thing right here day on your toddler. some thing cheep yet lovable or maybe if like permitting them to experience in touch and while they arrive over and the toddler is born they're going to understand that the crammed animal or cradle toy became their p.c..!!! teenagers love being in touch. ~Banshee

Hi! Here are some great suggestions:

1) go to the beach

2) go on nature walks

3) go to flower/rose gardens

4) you can go to the zoo often if you have a season pass

5) rent a funny kids movie to watch at home

Hope this helps!

PS. My condolences about the loss of your wife.

depending on where you live you may want to look into a place called (THE JUNGLE) It is great because the kids can run around and play and you can sit and realax and not have to worry about them or chase after them. That is where I take my niece and nephew all the time. If you do not have a JUNGLE around where you live you may want to check and see if there is somthing similar around in your area.

In my area, there's a Please Touch Museum that children love to visit. Maybe you have something similar in your area...??

Or maybe even a fast food restaurant that has a play area... children love that. Chuck E Cheese's is another great place.

Have fun:)
