No I would tell them because when your videotaping them your also see how your kids are acting if because if your childcare provider tells you your child did something and your child trys to tell you they didn't you got it on tape

I would tell them. It might make them think twice about doing something questionable. However, it's not a guarantee. Abusive people often aren't conscious of how they are acting. They just do it because no one has taught them how to behave.

Sit down with your care provider and make a plan. Everyone who interacts with your children has to know your child rearing policies. Otherwise you are confusing your children. The parent decides what pinishments are aadministered for what infractions.

Well if you tell them, you won't need the camera, unless you want to see how a perfect childcare provider works.

I'm sure if they knew it and done something wrong , that they would erase that part and rewind and start video again, to run over that part of the video, and all they would have to say was the child hit the button and turned it off, so i restarted it. Unless you got camera's everywhere, i'm sure they would figure out what areas that are being monitored and do the bad stuff out of sight of the camera. Just my thinking,

I would even if they weren't being taped. People act better if they think others can see them.

nope. it isn't an invasion of privacy in my opinion because you have the right as a parent to insure the safety of your children by any means nessicary. I would video tape.

Why would I leave my child with someone I didn't trust?

But no, I wouldn't tell.

Yep! Maybe that way an abusive situation will never happen in the first place - they know they are being watched.

This is a catch 22 question, if you tell them, they may look for the device and try to rig fake video taping. I would probably, in the interviewing process mention that there is the chance for spot checking by hidden video recording devices. I would have more than one room set up with the cameras so that they can't avoid any places the children are allowed to be, even the yard, laundry area, garage, etc. If you have not already mentioned anything, I would not tell them at this point. But if you suspect anything going on, most def do avoice activated recording, and if you feel more convinced something is happening, consult a lawyer or police official as to what steps to take next to protect not only your child, but yourself as well. People with mental illness quite often do babysitting and elder care, because they can't handle other types of jobs, and don't ever put it past the individual that when they find out they have been video taped, they could become abusive to you as well.

No, and I don't think legally u have to if it is in your own home. I understand that telling them might keep them from doing something wrong, or harmful to your child(ren), but only in front of the cameras. What if, for instance, they go outside in the yard or to a park frequently? Then u have no idea what is going on. If u are secretly taping, and they show behaviors that might be detrimental to your child(ren), u can get take care of the problem immediately!

yes you should but, dont let them know were you have the video tape.... At least then they wont go behind doors, keep the upper hand on the people who takes care of your kids... Dont be a slave to a childcare provider just cause you might need them......your kids safety comes first

Yes I would. You're video taping your childcare provider to see what kind of job they're doing. So let them know right away so they don't get a second to slack off. If they know they're on camera, it'll give them extra incentive to do an extra good job.

i does not enable somebody babysit if i did not be responsive to them. it might make no distinction if the youngsters have been observed or bio. we've the two in our relatives. i does not rule out everyone purely by way of fact they theory adoption became incredible. i think of it is purely too. The activity of a discern is to counter those kinds of comments, yet you won't be able to push aside them thoroughly by way of fact people purely prefer to declare that. there isn't something we did in yet differently as far as childcare. they are regular young infants who be responsive to they are observed and have some satisfaction of their historical past. i'm shocked you have bypass to a committee to inform which you're waiting up. We had countless homestead visits from people who got here to examine us out, searching for issues like the temp interior the refrigerator, acceptable railings on all stairsteps, temp of the water interior the water heater and different possible small issues. and that they checked to make advantageous the child would have its very own mattress room and one thousand different issues. additionally they asked relating to the type you propose to punish the newborn, and spanking is something it is purely user-friendly not allowed. We signed a freelance asserting that would desire to in no way ensue. In our case that is obtrusive the youngsters are observed, because they are Asian, so we container countless questions. one element i've got discovered is that no count how impolite a question would be, people mean nicely. I in no way get offended with somebody asking a question while the youngsters are with me. i don't choose them to think of that they are area of a clarification for everyone to be offended. i you may wait and notice, yet do not provide any very own suggestions. I carry the telephone variety to our adoption enterprise, and if worse is composed of worst, i'd ask "Why do you ask approximately my infants? Are you drawn to adopting? if so, right here's a variety you could call for all of the solutions you seek for." Then we walk away. by potential of how, while somebody tells our infants how fortunate they are to be observed, they respond, "My mum and dad say we are the wonderful blessing in this worldwide, and that they are the extremely fortunate ones!"

2006-03-13 12:38:29 UTC

in response to ack&dj trust is sometimes mis placed and it doesn't hurt to watch how your child would interact with the care taker alone, and in response to the question no I wouldn't say anything, and the first month I would pick a randome day once a week to recored the interactions made, it's better to be safe then to be sorry! and your children are worth it!

yes. the reason is that they would then treat the children better. why wait until they have already done something bad to the kids? true you'll find out but it meanss the kids have already been treated badly, and you can't fix that just by knowing about it. prevention is better than a cure.

Yep!! I have been in that situation where I was video taping and I did tell the nanny I was taping her. I also told any babysitters. I felt more comfortable leaving my kids with them and they were understanding about it.

yes, because if she knows she is she wont do some crazy ****. I mean its too late for your kid if she shakes her and the baby is dead, sure you got it on tape, but by then its too late. Let her know shes being taped for obvious reasons. If she has a problem with it, then you just saved yourself some trouble.

It is unethcial to videotape someone without their knowledge and consent. If you can't trust them, don't leave your child with them.

Yes. The reason is fair disclosure. Plus if she knows she is being taped she is less likely to abuse my children.

no, but its your choice. I think it would be best to catch them in the act of something bad, rather than it being preventive, because someone who is crazy will hurt your child anyway.
